‘Chambr’ is an acoustic project by award winning guitarist/composer Nick Tyson, combining a guitar led rhythm section with a string trio.
Influences from jazz, world, classical chamber and folk are explored within Tyson’s delicate writing to produce an exciting new voice for British music.
The debut album ‘Freewheel’, produced by Ben Lamdin - Nostalgia 77, will be released on F-IRE records on the 15th October 2012.
The launch will take place on Friday 19th October 2012 at the renowned Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho London, as part of F-IRE festival.
The album showcases the ensemble moving seamlessly through richly textured sound-scapes, melodic string passages, intricate grooves, from stripped back minimalism to full on solos.
The project was launched in April 2012 at London’s Vortex followed by a critically acclaimed UK tour.
‘Chambr’ has received a Performing Rights Society Foundation for New Music (PRSF) ‘new works’ award, as well as tour funding from Arts Council England and is commissioned by the influential London based F-IRE Collective.
